Report ( unit 8 )

Introduction

 The aim of this report is to suggest some adventure sports activities which young people could be interested to do in our local club, Gimnasia y Tiro.

Which sports?

I think young people would enjoy doing extreme sports, such us rafting, mountain biking , parachuting or trekking. We offer these activities in their own areas, for instance they can do Mountain biking in San Bernardo hill, it would be an amazing experience and they can share it with their friend. What is more they could have great pictures because of the view that the hill has.

Benefits

Doing these activities would benefit young people by making them more courageous and getting them the feel of adrenaline. At the same time they would become fitter.

Conclusion 

I recommend organizing these activities separated by ages , that would make young people be in touch with the same aged and be more comfortable. They would find doing sports activities as an interesting way to spend the time. The activities would also help them to develop physically and mentally.

Essay - for and against

Nowadays we cannot excuse the lack of information about health. There is plenty of it in magazines, newspapers and internet where talks about how you can have a healthy lifestyle. For example we know that eating constantly fast food could soon hurt our organism and our appearance. That is why modern lifestyles could seriously endanger our health.

However, in many ways is more difficult to have a healthy life because of the environment, which is becoming more and more polluted, thanks to the flumes of the cars, the pollution from the industries or even our bad habits. What is more, we do not make time for doing exercise which keeps us fit. For instance, a lot of people work in offices and spend many hours setting in front of computers and in their free time they play computer or video games or watch television, instead of going for a walk or stuff like that.

So, in spite of it is easy getting information about healthy lifestyle we should take advantage of that and use it in our daily life. We will feel better and our body will be pleased.

A report

Introduction 

The purpose of this report is to discuss what we can do with the money that the government has given to us to improve our neighbourhood with a clinic or a free sports centre and to make a recommendation.

A clinic 

As you know our neighborhood does not count with a clinic. When we get sick, we have to go to another neighborhood for a doctor. It is really important for us to count with one.

A free sports centre

Also we might need a sport centre , which it must be free for children and adults. It is always good spending in anything which helps our health. It would also encourage the children in doing exercise and stop hanging around doing nothing, wasting their time. What is more, it could be ranted for birthdays or parties, and the money would also be for the neighborhood.

Recommendation

I recommend spending the money in a free sport centre, it would have a beneficial effect on the improvement of our neighborhood and also would help our health.

A story

My JB experience.

I will always remember that day as one of the happiest day of my life. I had been waiting for that concert since I knew they will come to Buenos Aires, I couldn't believe we’ll be separated just for a couple of meters.

When the day arrived, I remember I got up really early in the morning and went with a friend to the hotel they were staying. We were waiting for them like 3 or 5 hours under the sun, so when they went out to say hello me and the others fans freaked out, I thought it couldn't get better and that was when one of them get near to me and I said to him “ you are my inspiration , thank you for everything”.  

After all that exciting moments I went to the concert with a couple of friends, once we were inside the stadium we met with other fans from different provinces and enjoy the amazing show all together. Anyway I was still thinking in that one meeting that made it a day I will never forget.

Dreams of fame.
Many people dream of being famous, but is it that easy? Nowadays thanks to the gossip shows, you may be famous and you do not even know. Being a celebrity it has a lot of advantages, for example you get free pass at every disco and also includes free drinks too; or you can get free clothes , shoes or watches ,only saying the name of the brand ,which is the best part.
Although being famous can be amazing, there are some disadvantages that you have to deal with, such us being a public person which it means no private life at all , every little mistake you may do , everyone will know as fast as you do. Moreover if you don't have a degree or at least a good work, you will be poor as fast as you were famous, because fame doesn't last forever.
To sum up, is better to be a well known person than a famous one, because you will have a normal life and people will admire you for what you are , and not for what you did.

A review

Restaurant La Fiamma

 Me and my family tried La Fiamma for the first time one year ago, and we found it was the best parrilladas’ restaurant we've ever eaten in. It was delicious.

The surroundings were comfortable and it has a colonial style. The waiters were very nice and informative and not too busy like in other restaurant, which is really annoying have to wait.

We really enjoy the parrillada and the empanadas too, and it wasn't too expensive. In La Fiamma you could find not only parrillada and empanadas but others traditional dishes like humitas or tamales and also pastas ,  and of course pizza, actually is very well known by them. I particularly liked the service and attention from the waiters.

My family and I would highly recommend it because of its dishes which are really tasty, and also its service. We will no doubt be back for many more lunches or dinners!. 

 

A letter .

Dear Caroline,

Hi, how are you doing? Thanks for thought about me for the camp, I’d love to go, what are the dates? 

I’d like to study English and History. I feel really comfortable with these subjects, I think History has a lot of interesting facts and I always get good marks on English, so I think I will take advantage from this. What about the sports? We should do any of them together, it will be great, don’t you think?

It’s not expensive? How much does it cost? I have some money that I’ve been earning for a special occasion and I’m totally sure this is one.

 I’d prefer The Great Barrier Brief, I think that all the creatures who live in the sea are amazing, and I’ve never did scuba diving before, so it will be a new experience for me, what do you think?

Essay: Save the world

The world where we live in has been changing, because of serious problems caused by human beings. The environment will change dramatically in the next 50 years. In my opinion we are responsible for that, but still we are on time to make a change.

Firstly, we would have to reduce pollution. We could start recycling plastic bottles or our litter too. For example if we used bio-degradable packaging would be better than a plastic one , because plastic bags does not discompose easily.

Another solution to stop polluting the atmospheric, for example would be to reduce the exhaust fumes produced by cars and industries if we keep on producing that , it will change the climate and make sea levels rise.

I think that working together we could make the difference and help the environment. The time is not over yet. Save the planet, save ourselves. 

Children's summer camp .

Dear Alan Reid,
I have seen your advertisement on the newspaper and I am writing to apply for a summer job as a sport supervisors.I’m interesting in doing this job because I love sports and I would love playing with children, I would also gain some experience working in an English speaking country , in fact this will help me to improve my English while I earn some money and travel around Scotland.I was wondering if you could tell me , how much time do I have to explore it ?I am a 20 year-old student from Argentina. I am in an English teacher training course where I I have good reputation among my teachers for being responsible and hard working.  I have an intermediate level of English and I am taking the Camrbridge first certificate exam .

A day to remember

It was a trip I'll never forget. Almost all my classmates and I were in Bariloche, because of our students trip , we were really exited as we climbed into a modern bus. With 50 noisy teenagers and 5 patients parents , it was very crowed. It was the first day in Bariloche and our coordinator had decided to go to Piedras Blancas.
When we arrived there , we were amazed because of the unbelievable view , we had only seen in pictures before ,but we never thought it was that great ! We found the tour an unforgettable experience.
However, just after we had dressed with the ski clothes, my friend feel out and twisted her ankle. While we were waiting for the doctor, my others classmates were playing with the snow,  one of the guys hit with a huge snow ball in the eyes to one of the girls, a few minutes after that we were having a snow ball fight. We had never felt so thrilled before and we started to laugh so hard that one of the moms got upset with us, because of the girl who had broken her ankle a minutes ago. I think the moms and our coordinator felt a bit better when the doctor finally arrived and heal the girl. To sum up. it was one of the memorable days of the most awesome trip I've ever had.

Leisure & Pleasure

I got interested in playing the guitar, one summer holiday when I was staying here in Salta with my aunt. She gave me as a present a guitar, at first I tried to play it by myself, but then I realised it wasn't any progress so I decided to take lessons. My teacher called Constanza is a musician and singer , actually she performed in Cosquin festival several times, and she thought me everything she knew.

At first it was very complicated , my fingers had to get used to the strings , and that was the hard part. However after all I found it really enjoyable and relaxing , I didn't play as well as my teacher and my brothers  said to me that I was always making noise , but I got better day by day .

Now a days I don't have enough time to play because of my studies and job , but my cousin asked me to help him , so maybe I will start playing again.

I'd recommend play the guitar as a hobby because for me it's a way to relax , to play like any of my idols or just have some fun with friends or by myself!

Thanks for your email. It's soo great to hear your're coming to Salta. I think the best time to come is in winter or spring  because in the summer it rains too much.
If you want to meet young people you could go out to the discos , I suggest you "Club Nueve XXI ", it's a fun place , the boys are handsome and the music is really catchy. Also if you want to visit the amazings places such as Cafayate or Cachi , you can always meet people , in fact you don't want to do that you can go to folklore festivals , there's no way that you don't make friends !
In winter the weather is quite cold , so you should bring some heavy clothes, but in the spring it's changeable so you might bring light clothes for the daytime and a sweater or a jacket for the evenings.
Thanks a lot for your invitation to join the group. If I'm free I'd love to do. However I'll show you some amazings things to do here , so let me know when you're coming !

Endangered Iberian lynx

                                             Iberian lynx

The Iberian lynx is one of the most endangered cat species in the world, which lives in the  Iberian Peninsula in Southern Europe. If the Iberian lynx died out, according to the SOS lynx, it would be the first feline species to become extinct since prehistoric times. Now a days there’s only two groups in Andalucia isolated each others with almost 300 lynxes and another in Montes de Toledo with 15 lynxes.

The  Iberian lynx is the only meat eater considered as an expert in rabbits , the European rabbit is its main pray, A male requires one rabbit per day; a female bringing up cubs will eat three rabbits per day. 

They  critical status is mainly due to habitat loss, poisoning, road casualties, feral dogs and poaching. Its habitat loss is due mainly to infrastructure improvement, urban and resort development and tree monocultivation, which serves to break the lynx's distribution area. In addition, the lynx prey population of rabbits is also declining due to diseases such as myxomatosis and hemorrhagic pneumonia.

SOS Lynx is a conservation charity based in Portugal, working to prevent the extinction of the Iberian lynx. 

Descrbing a famous person

Anne Hathaway

Anne  Jacqueline Hathaway, borned in November 12th of 1982 in New York , is one of the most famous American’s actress.  She got famous after playing Mia Thermopolis in the Disney film, The princess diaries in 2001, and in its sequel in 2004. She also starred in many other films, such us Brokeback mountain, The devil wears Prada and recently Les Miserables.

She is tall and slim, and her stunning features  are hard to forget. She looks amazing in expensive clothes , in fact she has to wear that kind of clothes in awards and her  style is quite “chic” . In 2006, People magazine included her  in its list of the 50 most beautiful people in the world and in 2008 Lancôme chose her to be the image of her new fragrance Magnifique.

Anne is a nice and caring person , she is involved with many charities including St Jude Children's research Hospital and The Human Rights Campaign ( It’s an organization in the United States which concerned  equality for gay, lesbian and transgender rights in main stream American society. Because of problems in her family in accepting her brother’s sexual orientation, Anne  is an active promoter of the Human Rights campaign and its initiatives since her childhood), actually she was honored for her continuous work.

When she is not working , Anne likes going to Italy or different places in Europe to take the stress off . She also likes hanging out with her friends and  clothes shopping.

Anne Hathaway is a brilliant as well as pretty  young actress. I’m pretty sure we’ll see a lot more of  her in the next years.
